Michael Ellis
Partner at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC

As a corporate transactions attorney, Michael is often in a position, whether in an acquisition setting, a capital raise, or a situation between two partners, where it’s his job to create mutually beneficial solutions. Through his experience handling mergers & acquisitions, early-stage venture capital, and corporate securities law, he's learned to not only identify problems but to find creative ways to resolve issues that ensures all parties achieve favorable results. The value he delivers to my clients stems from nearly 40 years of working directly with business owners to accomplish their goals. He views each transaction from his client’s perspective so he is able to find a solution in a cost-effective and timely manner while anticipating his or her needs. He prides himself on listening to and spending time with his clients. Rather than focusing only on the legal issues, he examines the business, personal and legal factors enabling him to propose and achieve reasonable resolutions for all parties so neither side feels like they’ve lost. No matter the situation or circumstance, my clients know that he is here to anticipate their needs, listen to their goals, and work together to get all parties to “yes.”

Michael joined Buckingham in 2016. He holds a M.A. and a B.A from University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
